Launched in 2021, the Streetwise Academy by KFC Africa is an accredited learning initiative designed to unlock opportunity and build future-ready leaders across our 1,500+ restaurants in Africa. Created to bridge the gap between work and formal education, the programme equips employees from entry-level team members to aspiring managers, with nationally recognised qualifications aligned to real career pathways.
The Streetwise Academy offers programmes from NQF Level 3 through to Level 8, making KFC the first quick-service restaurant brand in Africa to provide accredited learning up to an honours-equivalent level.
To date, the academy has produced over 200 graduates.
The initiative not only builds critical skills in areas such as leadership, operations, and human resources, but also opens doors for employees who may not have had access to tertiary education – helping transform jobs into long-term careers.
