KFC MINI-CRICKET IS A NATIONWIDE GRASSROOTS PROGRAMME, MADE POSSIBLE THROUGH A PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN KFC AND CRICKET SOUTH AFRICA.
Designed to introduce the game of cricket to both girls and boys, this initiative welcomes children between the ages of six and 13, fostering early engagement with the sport.
Mini-Cricket is about much more than just cricket; it's about creating opportunities, levelling the playing field, and teaching important values such as teamwork, discipline, and respect. By integrating life skills and promoting a healthy, active lifestyle, the programme helps to inspire a love for the game and empower the next generation.

Each year, KFC Mini-Cricket enrolls nearly 120,000 children – girls between six and 13 years old, and boys from six to nine years old – across 4,900 schools throughout South Africa. The programme's reach is incredible: in the past season alone, more than 120,800 matches were played, guided and supported by 10,090 dedicated volunteer coaches. This collaborative effort not only brings cricket to communities nationwide but also builds friendships, confidence, and lasting memories for thousands of young participants.
It's about getting the most out of life's innings.
CHANGING LIVES
KFC HAS SENT THE KIDS ON TOURS WITH OUR NATIONAL TEAM, THE PROTEAS, TO LEARN FROM THE BEST, WITH AN EXTRAORDINARY NUMBER OF THE CHILDREN GOING ON TO PLAY CRICKET AT THAT SAME NATIONAL LEVEL.
Our programme is supported by 16 different cricket unions across South Africa. And it goes even further, attracting over 10,000 volunteer coaches, tireless men and women who support our young cricketers as they learn to love the game of cricket.
